Shimla, January 24

Education Minister Rohit Thakur today said that 99.9 per cent villages in the Jubbal Assembly segment were connected with roads. He presided over the ‘Sarkar Gaon Ke Dwar’ programme at Rathal village in the Jubbal Assembly constituency of Shimla district.

He said, “All villages have been connected with roads. The work to pave the remaining roads is going on at a war footing.” He added that the state had received Rs 2,600 crore under the third phase of the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana and Jubbal got the maximum grant of Rs 190 crore.

Rohit said, “The government has opened over 32 senior secondary schools during its one-year rule.” He inaugurated the new block of Government Senior Secondary School at Rathal and the building of a veterinary dispensary built at a cost of Rs 51 lakh at Nakradi panchayat.

He said, “When I was a Chief Parliamentary Secretary in 2013, I had laid the foundation stone of the new block of the government school at Rathal that I inaugurated today. Efforts are on to make Jubbal an ideal constituency.”
