Says investors upbeat about NDA government’s third term

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday cautioned people against what he termed as “false narratives around jobs” and said every time a major infrastructure project is launched and implemented jobs are created.

“People should remain cautious of the false narratives being spun against India’s development. The fact is employment is created when bridges are built, railway tracks are laid, roads are constructed, and local trains are manufactured…The recently released report on employment by the Reserve Bank of India that speaks of approximately 8 crore jobs having been created in the last three to four years has silenced the critics,” he said on a day when the Congress attributed BJP’s losses in 13 Assembly bypolls on Saturday to distress signs, including unemployment and price rise.

The Prime Minister was speaking while laying the foundation stone and dedicating multiple projects related to the road, railways and ports sector worth more than Rs Rs 29,400 crores in poll-bound Maharashtra’s Mumbai today.

Noting that both small and big investors have enthusiastically welcomed the third term of the NDA Government, the Prime Minister said that a stable government will work with triple the speed in its third term.

Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister mentioned the Vadhavan port project which was recently approved by the Central Government and said the Rs 76,000 crore project will create more than 10 lakh jobs.

He noted that the rate of employment in the country is directly proportional to infrastructure development.
