In a joint operation, the Border Security Force and police seized 50,000 sedative tablets by intercepting a car at Bhompura village near Indo-Pak border on Saturday.

Sameja Kothi police station incharge Chanderjit Singh said 156 Battalion Deputy Commandant Mohinder supervised the interception on a specific tip-off. Rajesh and Sonu of Dabber village were arrested under the NDPS Act.

At another naka near Gulabewala village, Surinder Poonia, incharge of the Kesarisinghpur police station, intercepted a bike and nabbed Ashish Arora with 9,000 intoxicant tablets.

About 10,750 sedative tablets were seized by intercepting a car near the Ramgarh Sanghar bus stand, Anuj Kumar of Chak 16KD and Nishant Jat of Chak 36 village were held under the NDPS Act.

As many as 10,000 intoxicant tablets were seized by intercepting an unnumbered scooter on the Srikaranpur road. Ranjit Singh and Gurmail Singh of Majhiwala were arrested under the NDPS Act.
