74% turnout in Yamunanagar district

A turnout of 74.20 per cent was recorded in all four Assembly constituencies — Jagadhri, Yamunanagar, Sadhaura and Radaur — in Yamunanagar district in the Assembly elections of 2024 against 74.15 per cent voting recorded in the segment during 2019 polls.

Highest in Sadhaura assembly segment

  • The highest 78.65 per cent voter turnout was recorded in reserved Sadhaura Assembly constituency
  • The lowest, 67.24 per cent, voting was recorded in Yamunanagar Assembly constituency of the district

The highest 78.65 per cent voter turnout (1,73,503 votes) was recorded in reserved Sadhaura Assembly constituency of the district. In Jagadhri Assembly constituency 78.34 per cent voting (1,83,182 votes) was witnessed. However, in Radaur Assembly constituency 72.97 per cent (1,52,379 votes) people exercised their right to franchise.

The lowest, 67.24 per cent voting (1,63,400 votes) was witnessed in Yamunanagar Assembly constituency. On the other hand, in the Assembly 2019 elections, 74.15 per cent polling was reported in Yamunanagar district.

In Sadhaura Assembly constituency, 77.79 per cent turnout was recorded, in Jagadhri Assembly constituency 78.87 per cent, in Radaur Assembly constituency 72.92 per cent and 67.25 percent in Yamunanagar Assembly constituency in the 2019 Assembly elections.

District Election Officer-cum-DC Manoj Kumar said there were 9,06,271 voters in Yamunanagar district this time. He said that they included 2,20,596 voters in Sadhaura Assembly constituency; 2,33,840 voters in Jagadhri Assembly constituency; 2,43,023 voters in Yamunanagar Assembly constituency and 2,08,812 voters in Radaur Assembly constituency. He said 979 polling booths were set up in all the four Assembly constituencies of the district. He further said the election control room had been made on the premises of the ITI, Yamunanagar, where EVMs were kept for counting of votes to be held on October 8.

“As many as 3,916 officers and employees and 3,117 police personnel were deployed in all four Assembly constituencies on election duty,” said Manoj Kumar. SP Ganga Ram Punia said the election was held peacefully in all the four Assembly constituencies of the district.
