74 new positive cases, three deaths reported in Ludhiana

Ludhiana, November 7
Seventyfour persons tested positive for coronavirus, while three lost their lives to the virus in the district today. Those who died included two men and a woman.
Nine patients on ventilator support today included five from Ludhiana district and four from other districts. The two males who lost their lives were aged 80 and 50 and belonged to Ghumar Mandi and Dugri, respectively. Both had co-morbidity of hypertension.
The 57-year-old female who died belonged to Muradpura. She had been admitted to the Civil Hospital and was also suffering from hypertension.
Those who tested positive today included 37 persons referred from flu corers, 18 from OPDs, 11 contacts of positive persons, two suffering from severe acute respiratory infection (SARI), while the tracing of six persons was on.
Out of the total confirmed cases from the district, 18,333 belong to Ludhiana city, 690 to Jagraon, 639 to Khanna, 429 to Raikot, 331 to Samrala and 309 to Payal. Meanwhile, from the total deaths reported so far, 740 belong to Ludhiana city, 32 to Khanna, 23 to Samrala, 22 to Jagraon, 17 to Payal and 13 to Raikot.
Dr Rajesh Bagga, Civil Surgeon, said,” I request all people to celebrate all festivals in the four walls of their homes. It is the safest place and if you want to come outside, wear your mask properly, maintain social distancing and wash your hands frequently”.
