Sixty-five incidents of farm fire were reported across the state today. Maximum 15 incidents were reported in Tarn Taran, followed by Ferozepur (14), Sangrur (eight), Patiala (seven), Amritsar (five) and Fatehgarh Sahib (four). The total farm fire count across the state has now reached 1,510. Out of the total farm fires reported so far, nearly 82 per cent (1,249) were reported in past 12 days.

The gap between the farm fires reported this year (1,510) and the corresponding period last year (1,764) has now reduced to merely 15 per cent.

While residue burning incidents are on the decline, Amritsar continues to top the list with 438 cases, followed by Tarn Taran (311) and Patiala (188). Sangrur and Ferozepur have reported 138 and 110 such cases, so far.
