60,232 cases settled at national Lok Adalat
In the National Lok Adalat organised on Saturday, a total of 60,232 cases were disposed of out of 61,629 with the mutual consent of parties. The Lok Adalat was presided over by District and Sessions Judge-cum-chairman, DLSA, Harpreet Kaur Randhawa.
DLSA secretary-cum-CJM Harvinder Singh said the National Lok Adalat was organised under the guidelines of the State Legal Services Authority. He said during the Lok Adalat, 31 Lok Adalat Benches were formed in local courts and seven Lok Adalat Benches were formed at the sub-divisional level. People showed enthusiasm for the settlement of cases during the adalat.
He said court fees incurred in cases disposed of through Lok Adalat were ordered to be refunded. It would save money and time of parties, thereby reducing mutual enmity and increasing love. There was no further appeal against the judgment passed through the Lok Adalats, thus ending disputes forever.
In this National Lok Adalat, pending suits, motor accident claim cases, matrimonial matters, cheque bounce cases, pre-litigative disputes, whose disputes were disposed of amicably.
