Over 600 students from 70 colleges of the state participated in Group-1 Youth Festival held in Bilaspur recently.

The students participated in 10 different events. Technical Education Minister Rajesh Dharmani felicitated the winners at the valedictory function held at Government College, Bilaspur. In cartoon making, Aniket Guleria of Government Degree College (GDC), Nagrota Surian, stood first; Navang of RKMV, Shimla, stood second; and Shubham of GDC, Kangra, bagged the third position.

In the clay-modelling competition, Khushi of GDC, Sarahan, stood first; Suhani of GDC, Dharamsala, stood second; and Kashish of Vallabh College, Mandi, stood third.

In the collage-making event, Ashish Kumar of GDC, Hamirpur, stood first; Vaishali Bhandari of Jawaharlal Nehru Fine Arts College, Shimla, stood second and Japji Singh of GDC, Kandaghat, stood third.

In the rangoli-making competition, Palak Chaudhary of GDC, Dharamsala, stood first; Sunita Soni of GDC, Kullu, stood second; and Priyanka of HP University and Priya of GDC, Seema, stood third.

In the photography competition, Vishal of GDC, Nahan, stood first; Shivam Bhardwaj of Shiva College, Bilaspur, stood second; and Sargam Prakash of GDC, Solan, stood third.

In the poster-making event, Ritika Kalra from JNFA, Shimla, got the first position; Harshita from GDC, Ghumarwin, got the second position; and Bhumika of GDC, Subathu, got the third position.

In the painting competition, Nishant Pradhan of GDC, Dharamsala, stood first; Akash Tyagi of JNFA, Shimla, stood second; and Sanjay Kumar of GDC, Arki, stood third.

In the elocution competition, Parul Jaraganta of RKMV, Shimla, stood first; Janvi Pathania of GDC, Dharamsala, stood second; while Manisha of GDC, Ramshahr, and Reha of GDC, Seema, jointly stood third.

In the debate competition, Kashish and Akinta of GDC, Rampur, stood first; Swanil Surya and Divyasham Surya of GDC, Sanjauli, and Sahil Ranak and Parul Kumari of GDC, Solan, stood second; while Roop Singh and Neha Devi of GDC, Mandi, stood third. In the quiz competition, Shalini Sharma, Raman Kumar and Bharti Thakur of Shiva College of Education stood first; Sagar, Pintu and Aman of HPU, Shimla, stood second; while Shivam Bhardwaj, Ranjana Kumari and Kuldeep Khanna of GDC, Bilaspur, secured the third position.
