60 test +ve, elderly man succumbs in Ludhiana

Sixty persons tested positive for Covid, while one patient lost his life in the district today. The patient who lost his life was a 65-year-old male from Focal Point. He had been admitted to the Civil Hospital.
DC Varinder Sharma said under the “Mission Fateh” of the Punjab Government, the number of coronavirus patients getting cured in Ludhiana district was increasing with each passing day.
He said there were 426 active patients in the district at present. A total of 60 new patients from the district had tested positive in the last 24 hours, said the DC.
He added that till date, a total of 3,95,374 samples had been taken, out of which reports of 3,93,980 samples had been received. Out of these, 3,70,713 samples were found negative, while the reports of 1,394 samples were pending.
He said now the total number of patients related to Ludhiana was 20,474, while 2,793 patients were related to other districts/states.
He said till date, 47,204 persons had been kept under home quarantine in the district and at present, the number of such persons was 1,001. Today, 159 persons were sent for home quarantine.
He said whenever the district administration and the Health Department, Ludhiana, find any positive or suspected Covid person, their samples are sent for testing.
