DAV Senior Secondary Public School, Dehra, hosted the ‘INTACH National Heritage Quiz 2024’. It is considered to be the largest ever school quiz competition in the country. It was organised by the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH), Kangra Chapter, on Thursday and 80 students from six schools participated. The programme was inaugurated by Dehra SDM Shilpi Beakta, who blessed the participants with her encouraging words.

The quiz is based on the heritage and culture of India and aims to increase awareness about the country’s glorious legacy among school children. Students from classes VII to X participated in the quiz. The competition is part of INTACH’s initiative to create awareness about the country’s cultural heritage. After the initial written round based on questions on heritage of India and Himachal, there was a final round for the top three teams. The contestants were Vipul and Manya of Delhi Convent School, who stood first; followed by Subhaye and Prag of Laureate School, Dehra, and Avinash and Abhimanyu of DAV, Dehra, at second position.

Principal Vishvas Sharma emphasised the importance of India’s rich cultural past. LN Aggarwal, former director, GSI and Convener of the Kangra Chapter of INTACH, briefed the students about the awareness, documentation and conservation initiatives taken up by the organisation.
