Tarn Taran, August 30

A free-for-all situation arose at Sheron village on Thursday evening when two groups of villagers clashed with each other. Besides brick-batting, pelting of stones, sharp weapons, lathis and sticks were used in the clash. Six people, who were injured in the clash, were admitted to the Community Health Centre (CHC), Kairon.

ASI Gajjan Singh, Investigating Officer (IO), said 17 suspects had been booked while 13 had been arrested. The ASI said one of the groups was led by Gurbhej Singh Bheja Mota while Vikram Singh Vicki was leading the rival group.

The ASI said the condition of the six suspects admitted to the Kairon CHC was stated to be stable. The Sarhali police have registered a case under Sections 115 (2), 118 (1), 333, 303 (2), 324 (4), 324 (5) and 191 (3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Sections 25, 27, 54 and 59 of the Arms Act against members of both the groups.
