As many as six persons were injured in road accidents in the past 24 hours in Palwal district.

According to police sources, two persons, including a woman, were seriously injured after their car was rammed by a UP Roadways bus near Kuslipur village on National Highway-19 in the district on Monday night.

The accident occurred when the bus was attempting to overtake the car. The injured have been identified as Kanta Devi and Arav, who were traveling in the car with another person, who was driving.

The occupants of the car were returning from a pilgrimage to Vrindavan (Mathura) and were headed towards Delhi. The bus driver fled the scene, abandoning the bus after the accident.

In a separate incident, four persons, including an elderly man and three youths standing by the roadside near Pingor village, were injured when a car hit them after the driver lost control over the vehicle last evening.

The injured have been admitted to a hospital. The car driver, identified as Salman, fled the scene, leaving his vehicle behind. A case has been registered and the police have launched a manhunt to arrest the drivers involved in both accidents, a police official said.
