Fifty-nine cases of farm fire were reported across the state on Thursday. The state had witnessed 18 cases on October 18 last year.

Patiala reported 13 incidents, followed by Tarn Taran (11), Sangrur (seven), Amritsar (six), Ferozepur (five), Mansa (four) Kapurthala (three), Fatehgarh Sahib and Jalandhar (two each). Bathinda, Gurdaspur, Muktsar and Moga reported one case each.

Out of the total 1,348 cases reported so far, Amritsar topped the list with 423 incidents, followed by Tarn Taran (253) and Patiala (153). The state had witnessed 1,407 incidents of farm fires during the corresponding period last year.
