Garhshankar, August 5
Five transformers installed in the fields of Chahalpur and Maula Wahidpur villages of Garhshankar were stolen last night.
Thieves opened the transformers and took away expensive oil and metals. The villagers came to know about this theft when they went to their fields and saw that the tubewells were off and the transformers were missing from the electric poles.
People said it was surprising that high voltage current flowed through the cables of the poles and yet they managed to steal the transformers.
