5 buses challaned under Safe School Vahan policy
Fatehgarh Sahib, July 17
To ensure the safety of school children, the District Child Safety Department has launched a campaign under the Safe School Vahan Policy.
Deputy Commissioner Parneet Shergill said officials had been directed to inspect each and every bus of the schools, colleges, university and private vehicles carrying students for compliance of rules framed under the policy.
She said during the campaign, random inspection of school buses was being done. Five buses had been challaned and fined on the spot.
District Child Protection Officer Harbhajan Singh Mahimi said keeping children’s safety in mind, it was very important for their parents to not allow them to drive vehicles underage and ensure that school buses in which their wards were travelling followed the policy rules.
