5 booked under NDPS, Excise Acts in Kangra
The Kangra police have registered a case under the NDPS Act and four cases under the Himachal Pradesh Excise Act against an alleged drug peddler in Kangra and liquor smugglers in Dharamsala, Baijnath, Gaggal and Lambagaon areas of the district.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Kangra Shallini Agnihotri said under the Kangra police station, 19.77 gm of heroin (chitta) was seized from the house of Gaurav Kumar, a resident of Lower Kholi village. In this regard, a case was registered under Section 21-61-85 under the NDPS Act against the accused.
She further said that under the Dharamsala police station, 8,250 ml of country liquor was seized from the shop of Sanjeev Dogra, a resident of Narwana village. A case was registered under Section 39-1(A) under the Himachal Pradesh Excise Act against the accused.
Under the Lambagaon police station, 5,250 ml of country liquor was seized from Vikas, a resident Mundhi village. Under the Baijnath police station, 27,000 ml of country liquor was seized from the house of Ashok Kumar, a resident Ward No. 4, at Gharatholi village.
At the Gaggal police station, 3,750 ml of country liquor was seized from the shop of Jeevan Kumar, a resident of Gaggal village. Cases have been registered at the respective police stations under Section 39-1 (A) under the Himachal Pradesh Excise Act against all accused, the SP said.
