41.7 LMT paddy, 3.65 LMT millet procured by HAFED, other agencies

The Kharif crop procurement, which commenced on September 25 in the state, is proceeding seamlessly across Haryana. Farmers are experiencing a hassle-free selling process, according to a government release.

According to data from the Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs Department, Haryana State Cooperative Supply and Marketing Federation (HAFED) and other agencies have procured a total of 41,73,663.43 metric tonnes (MT) of paddy from 2,28,754 farmers. Kurukshetra leads in paddy procurement, acquiring a maximum of 8,56,108.70 metric tonnes.

Furthermore, millet procurement is progressing seamlessly in the state, with 3,65,742.35 MT purchased from 1,23,441 farmers. Rewari has seen the maximum procurement of millet at 83,190.67 MT.

“Haryana’s proactive initiation of Kharif crop procurement has provided significant relief to farmers compared to other states. The government has left no stone unturned in delivering facilities to farmers at the mandis. Provisions for clean drinking water and rest have been made in the mandis to ensure the well-being of farmers,” said a government spokesperson.
