In a significant development, Senior Medical Officer (SMO) Dr Dharmendra Singh has urged the state authorities to relieve him from the charge of Civil Surgeon, Narnaul, while citing seniority reasons.

In his letter written to the state authorities, Dr Dharmendra said four officers posted at Narnaul office of the Health Department are senior to him, hence it is requested to give the charge of Civil Surgeon, Narnaul, any of the senior officers in place of him, said the sources.

Desires to return to ultrasound work

Senior Medical Officer (SMO) Dr Dharmendra Singh was appointed as acting Civil Surgeon, Narnaul, four months ago after Civil Surgeon Dr Ramesh Chander was transferred to Rohtak from here

"I fulfilled this responsibility with dedication for four months... being an ultrasound trained doctor, I want to do ultrasound work keeping in view the public interest," he said

Dr Dharmendra came to limelight when he launched a mobile van with all diagnostic facilities in Narnaul last month. Actually, the van was to be flagged off by the Deputy Commissioner but Dr Dharmendra did it when the DC did not reach at the programme venue on stipulated time due to being busy in some other programme.

Some days later, he again grabbed the media attention when he accused an officer of district administration of misbehaving with him and filed a complaint with the DC in this respect. The DC then set up a fact-finding inquiry under the ADC into the matter.

“Four officers are senior to me in the office, hence the charge of Civil Surgeon should be given to any of them. I fulfilled this responsibility dedicatedly for four months. During this time span, I moved a proposal to the state authorities for providing the facilities like CT Scan, MRI and cath lab at government hospitals here,” Dr Dharmendra told ‘The Tribune’.

He maintained that besides, he sent a proposal to launch dialysis facilities at Kanina and Ateli level.
