A massive fire broke out in Seri village in Rohru subdivision, Shimla district, gutting four houses belonging to Mohan Lal and Kailash Singh. Fortunately, no human lives were lost in the incident. The fire started in one of the houses during the early hours of Monday and quickly spread to neighbouring homes, fueled by exploding gas cylinders in the kitchens. Tragically, a cow and calf were burnt alive.

Villagers promptly alerted the fire department, and four fire tenders rushed to the scene, extinguishing the blaze after several hours with the help of locals. Rohru SDM Vijay Vardhan confirmed the incident and stated that the cause of the fire and extent of damage are being assessed.

This incident is reminiscent of a similar fire that occurred in Praunthi village, Jubbal, Shimla, earlier this year, where nine families lost their homes to an inferno.
