The district police have arrested four gangsters, who had allegedly killed their ex-accomplice for reportedly forming his own gang. According to the police, the gang members were involved in snatching, extortion, threat and drug trafficking.

The accused have been identified as Dheeraj Batta, Amaninder Singh, Sandeep Singh and Taranpreet Singh, alias Taran. They have been booked under Sections 103(1), 190(3) and 190 of the BNS. The police have seized the weapon and car used in the crime.

SSP Ravjot Grewal said on October 2, Taranjit Singh (35) was murdered in Badinpur village near Mandi Gobindgarh. The deceased’s father, Manjeet Singh, alleged following a fallout with his son, Dheeraj was afraid that Taranjit would form another gang, following which and he and his accomplices murdered him.

The SSP said they had been sent to police remand.
