The Kaithal police have arrested four farmers for allegedly burning paddy stubble in the district. In one case, Gurmuksh, a resident of Mastgarh village, was arrested by head constable Vijender Singh from the Guhla police station. The remaining three cases were handled by the Cheeka police station. Harpool Singh from Tilla Plant, Cheeka, Banta Singh, a resident of Balbehra, and Ramkishan were arrested by Head Constables Amit Kumar and Jaipal and Assistant Sub-Inspector Kuldeep Kumar.

A police spokesperson said that the arrests were made after complaints were received from agricultural officers, who reported that the accused had burnt stubble, violating the guidelines and order. Separate cases were filed against each of the accused and further legal proceedings are underway.

Superintendent of Police (SP), Kaithal, Rajesh Kalia appealed to farmers to avoid burning crop residue and instead contribute to keeping the environment clean. He warned that strict action would be taken against anyone found violating stubble burning regulations.
