3 sisters feted for winning medals in weightlifting

The management committee of Sohrab Educational Trust led by chairman Amjid Ali and director Firdos felicitated three sisters who won laurels for the town in weightlifting events at Khedan Watan Punjab Diyan recently.

Jagreet Kaur bagged gold medal in the 84 plus category by lifting 422.5 kg. Her sisters Sehajpreet Kaur (74+) and Sukhmanpreet Kaur (52+) were honoured for their performance in the district-level events where they won gold medal each in their respective categories.

The organisers also felicitated their mother Ranveer Kaur for her persistent efforts to cater to special needs of girls and accompanying them during all events.

The trust announced special scholarship for the three weightlifters, said Ali.
