Gurdeep Kaur of MCM DAV College, Sector 36, set a new meet record by clocking 14.40 secs in the women’s 100m hurdle event at the ongoing 76th Panjab University Annual Athletics Meet on the Panjab University campus. GGDSD College, Sector 32, athletes Geeta Devasi clocked 14.60s and Anjali 17.90s to claim second and third position.

In the women’s 100m dash, Sonia won the top position by clocking a new meet record timing of 11.50s, while Tamana claimed the second position by logging another new meet record in 11.60s. Both represented the Sector 32 college. Rihita Kaur of MCM DAV College clocked 11.90s to claim the third position.

Nitesh Kumar of GGDSD College bagged the men’s long jump event by covering a total distance of 7.18m, followed by Shrikant (7.07m) of SGGS College, Sector 26, and Haramandeep Singh (7.00m) of National Degree College, Punjab. Pooja Paramvir of GGSD College bagged the 20km walk gold medal by clocking 1 hour and 56.06seconds (1:56.06s), followed by Anmita Rani (2:06.08s) of MCM College and Navnit Kaur Pannu (2.07:21s) of GGDSD College.

Nishta (41.02m) of GGD SD College won the women’s discus throw event, followed by Bharti (40.35m) from the same college and Jyoti (38.94m) of MCM DAV College at third position. In the women’s high jump event, Kevin Saggu (1.50m) of GGDSD College bagged the gold medal, followed by Kamaljeet Kaur (1.40m) of MCM DAV College, and Taniya (1.37m) of SGGS College, Sector 26.
