The court of Panchkula Sessions judge Ved Parkash Sirohi sentenced three convicts – Neeraj Kumar, Saurabh Tiwari and Tayab – to five years of rigorous imprisonment (RI) and imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 each in a mobile phone snatching case.

The police had registered a case on February 7 last year following a complaint by Sandeep Gill, a resident of Sector 14. Gill stated that his phone was snatched by three motorcycle-borne youths when he was riding a bicycle near Sector 15.

The police arrested the convicts and recovered Gill’s mobile phone from them.
