3 Muktsar women hurt in explosion

Three women employees got critically injured in an explosion at a henna (mehandi) factory today in Mandi Killianwali of the Lambi Assembly segment.

Those injured have been identified as Sunita, Sandeep Kaur and Rupa.

They were immediately taken to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bathinda.

Sources said the explosion occurred in the henna mixing unit. The factory’s supervisor refused to divulge any details. The injured were reportedly brought out of the room after breaking the door.

Meanwhile, the explosion created panic among the residents. Sources claimed that the factory had nearly 20 women employees and most of them were taking rest when the explosion occurred.

A team of firefighters doused the flames. The police have started an investigation.
