3 illegal colonies razed

GLADA Chief Administrator Harpreet Singh while adopting zero tolerance to unauthorised and unplanned development with a special focus on illegal colonies, launched a special drive to take punitive action against those who were fleecing innocent residents under the garb of offering cheaper plots in such colonies, which lacked statutory sanction and compliance with the government norms.

Complying with the demolition orders issued by Additional Chief Administrator, GLADA, here, against unauthorised colonies, the Duty Magistrate, police force and enforcement team of GLADA, comprising District Town Planner (Regulatory), Assistant Town Planner (Regulatory), Sub-Divisional Engineers, GLADA, and Junior Engineers, (Regulatory), demolished three unauthorised colonies at Jaspal Bangar village, Ludhiana, by dismantling their roads, boundary walls, passages, sewer manholes and ongoing illegal constructions and structures at these sites.

When developers did not stop the illegal construction works despite receiving notices, a special team carried out the demolition drive, which went unopposed.
