The Ramdass police have arrested three persons for allegedly slaughtering cows in Dayal Bhatti village here.

They were arrested by the police following information that the trio were involved in brutally slaughtering cows and later selling their meat (beef) in an illegal manner. The informer told that they had killed a cow at their house and were preparing beef.

Immediately, a police led by SI Niresh Kumar raided the spot and arrested the three accused, identified as Nishan Masih, Ajay Masih and Samual Masih.

Niresh said a case under the Cow Slaughter Act was registered against them. He said when the police team reached their house, the accused were preparing beef. He said further investigations were in progress while all the three suspects were arrested.

The police seized around 160 kg of packaged beef, cow skin and other body parts from the spot. Besides, the police also seized weapons used for killing and skinning cows. The accused were produced in a court and brought on two-day police remand for further investigations. “Investigations are underway to find out where they used to sell the beef,” said Niresh Kumar.
