3 gangsters involved in firing, extortion bid in Hisar’s Mahindra showroom killed in encounter

Three armed gangsters who were reportedly involved in the incident of shooting at a Mahindra showroom in Auto Market in Hisar district, on June 24 were killed in an encounter with a joint team of the Haryana and Delhi police on the Rohtak bypass road near Sonepat town on Friday night.
The police also recovered five pistols from them.
Identified as Ashish alias Lalu, resident of Kharia village in Hisar, Sunny Kharar, resident of Kharar in Hisar and Vicky, resident of village Rindhana in Sonepat; they were members of Himanshu Bhau gang.
The police said that they were wanted in a number of cases of murders and extortion from businessmen in Hisar.
They also carried a reward of Rs 2 lakh from Haryana police and were facing about 30 criminal cases in the two states.
The sources said that the Haryana police’s Special Task Force (STF) and the Crime Branch of Delhi Police carried out a joint operation near Chhinauli village in Kharkhoda region of Sonepat. They got a tip off about the movement of the gangsters in a white car.
When the police teams spotted them and tried to stop them, the criminals opened fire. The police also retaliated. In the shootout, three gangsters were seriously injured and rushed to the civil hospital in nearby Kharkhoda town where they were declared brought dead. A Delhi police personnel also suffered a bullet injury during the encounter.
The STF Sonepat in-charge Yogender Dahiya was leading the team which spotted the gangsters.
The sources said that Lalu and Kharar had started dabbling in the liquor trade after dropping out of studies. Later, they got involved in some criminal incidents and then joined a gang to commit robbery and extortion.
Recent incidents in Haryana
The Mahindra showroom owned by Ram Bhagat Gupta, an INLD leader was targeted by three gangsters who fired about 30 bullets. They demanded Rs 5 crore from him.
An ASI was shot dead in Karnal district reportedly by hired shooters in Kutail village on June 2.
JJP leader and motorcycle showroom owner Ravinder Saini was shot dead by four criminals near his showroom on Wednesday.
