3-day workshop in Srinagar medical college
A three-day workshop, Valley Urocon, organised by the Department of Urology and Renal Transplant Centre, Government Medical College (GMC), Srinagar commenced in the Valley, according to officials.
The workshop began on Friday at SKICC showcasing GMC Srinagar’s leadership in advancing urological care and education in the region.
Secretary Health and Medical Education, Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, was the chief guest on the occasion. Abid told participants about the use of latest technology in the field and need to upgrade skills. He stressed the need for a more patient centric approach.
Principal/Dean of GMC Srinagar, Dr Iffat Hassan underscored Srinagar GMC’s dedication for remaining at the forefront of medical innovation for the benefit of the locals.
Head of the Urology Department, Syed Sajjad Nazir, emphasised the critical role of incorporating advanced technology in improving patient outcomes and elevating the standard of care.
The three-day workshop centers on advanced minimally invasive and endo-urological techniques for addressing complex urological conditions.
Expert faculty from premier institutions like AIIMS, AINU, PGI, and SMS Jaipur guided the event, during which 35 challenging urological procedures were successfully performed using state-of-the-art methods.
