Rs 3.75 crore saved in Dhalli bus stand construction: Dy CM

Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri today said that the state government had saved Rs 3.75 crore in the construction of the Dhalli bus stand. He added that the government had granted administrative approval for Rs 17 crore for the bus stand but the project was completed at a cost of Rs 13.25 crore along with all basic amenities, including 13 shops, a conference hall, rest room, waiting and activity rooms, canteen etc. The two Regional Managers would also have their offices in the newly constructed complex, he added.

Agnihotri, who was also present during the inauguration of the newly constructed Dhalli bus stand, said that the Himachal Roadways Transport Corporation (HRTC) had received approval for the purchase of 250 diesel buses that would become part of its fleet shortly. “The BJP, instead of indulging in constructive criticism, was trivialising development initiatives of the government,” he added.

He said, “The HRTC has received Rs 110 crore for the establishment of electric stations and workshops. Besides, 300 electric buses will be procured soon and the process is in the final stage.”

Agnihotri said that efforts were afoot to ensure that the employees get their financial dues, including pension and salaries, on time every month.
