The Jalandhar Rural police have made comprehensive arrangements for the peaceful panchayat elections scheduled for tomorrow.

A total of 921 booths across 688 polling locations will be under tight security, with more than 2,500 police personnel being deployed to ensure a fair and smooth polling process throughout the district.

Each subdivision is being managed by SP-rank officers with DSPs and SHOs overseeing security operations at their locations. Special teams have been stationed at sensitive areas to maintain law and order. Patrolling units will monitor key locations, ensuring close supervision throughout the polling day.

SSP Harkamal Preet Singh Khakh conducted inspections at multiple locations to ensure all preparations were in place. Flag marches were conducted in various areas to demonstrate police presence and instill public confidence. Preventive measures have been taken against individuals suspected of attempting to disrupt the election process.

Additionally, traffic management around polling stations has also been streamlined to ensure smooth voter movement. The police are also coordinating closely with the Election Commission to ensure the effective implementation of security protocols. Polling stations, identified as critical, have been given special attention.
