25-yr-old liquor shop employee murdered at Abohar village

A day after Abohar-based businessman Gulab Singh got the licence of the liquor-vend located near Gang Canal in village Sadhuwali on the interstate border, salesman Rahul Trivedi (25) was found murdered yesterday. Previous licencee Lakhbir Singh had requested Gulab Singh to continue Trivedi’s service. The deceased belonged to Kutupur village in UP’s Mainpuri district and lived alone in Sadhuwali. As of now, no clue has been found in the murder case.
Investigation indicated that he had slept on the cot outside the shop. Some persons noticed him murdered on Wednesday morning and informed the Jawahar Nagar police station. There was an injury on his neck inflicted with some sharp weapon.
According to the police, unknown miscreants, after killing him, took out the key and opened the locks of the shutter. Thereafter, they committed theft/loot inside.
This is the first case of murder to be registered in Sriganganagar district under the new law which came into effect from July 1 in the country. Police said that on the report of contractor Gulab Singh, a case under Sections 103 (1), 331 (8), and 309 of the BNS was registered against unknown persons.
The experts, called by the police, had collected physical and scientific evidence from the place of crime. CCTV footage from nearby the liquor shop was also collected.
