23-year-old assaulted to death by five, video goes viral
A 23-year-old Babu Singh colony resident was brutally assaulted and then stabbed multiple times after being dragged off a running motorcycle in the market area in Patiala. The police said the badly-injured man was taken to a hospital but died due to excessive blood loss.
The police said they had registered an FIR against the accused identified as Ansh of Passiana village, Amaneet from Gaushala road and Yuvraj from Kahlwan village while two of their aides are yet to be identified. “The victim was riding pillion behind his friend Vishal when the trio and two others accused attacked him,” Patiala ASP Viabhav Choudhary said.
“The incident took place around Friday evening and the victim was rushed to the Rajindra Hospital where the doctors declared him brought dead. Acting swiftly, we have identified and lodged an FIR against the five accused. We are looking into the chain of events that led to the murder and are not ruling out any old enmity,” Chaudhary added.
The video of the brutal attack went viral on the social media and shows how Karan, riding pillion on a motorcycle, was hit by a man going past him on another bike. The accused can be seen pushing the victim.
The police said the incident took place on Friday evening in the Ablowal area of Patiala when Karan and his friend were heading to his house at Babu Singh Colony.
