A 22-year-old motorcyclist who was from Barwala to Dera Bassi was run over by a truck at Barwala road here on Tuesday. Deceased Dheeraj Kumar, a resident of Dera Bassi, was working in a transport company. A huge traffic jam followed the accident. The police took the body in their possession and sent it for post mortem.

In another accident, three brothers were injured after the SUV in which they were travelling hit a tree near Chhat light points in Zirakpur. The injured, including driver Punjab Singh who sustained head injuries, were admitted to a private hospital. They were on their way from Rajpura to Dhakoli.
