As many as 209 elderly and differently abled persons have cast their vote in Yamunanagar district.

The Election Commission of India has given the facility of voting from home to people above the age of 85 and people with disability.

There are a total of 215 registered persons who are either above the age of 85 or are differently abled in the four Assembly constituencies — Sadhaura, Jagadhri, Yamunanagar and Radaur — of Yamunanagar district.

“Out of the these, 209 persons have cast their vote. Four persons have died and two were not available at their home,” said Gulshan Sharma, Naib Tehsildar (Election), Yamunanagar district.

District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Capt Manoj Kumar said under the Haryana

Assembly General Election-2024, votes of these persons were cast on September 26 and 27.

He said that 12 polling parties were sent to the homes of these voters who got their votes cast through postal ballot. He said that the said voting process was recorded on video and the secrecy of voting was completely maintained.
