200 pre-challans for no waste segregation
The MC here has issued 200 pre-challans this week against those who did not segregate dry and wet waste. These challans are being issued as a warning to the residents and the MC officials have said after Sodal Mela, a penalty will also be imposed on the residents who will not abide by the rules.
As per the drive, the MC officials visited areas like Rama Mandi, Bastis, Abadpura, etc. in the past one week to check whether house owners were segregating waste. On Wednesday, the officials visited Gautam Nagar area. The drive will continue for few more days and then the MC will start imposing actual challans on the residents.
“Those who are not segregating wet and dry waste now have been issued pre-challans,” an official said.
The MC Commissioner Gautam Jain has also released orders to the hotels, restaurants and other bulk waste generators to ensure that they check waste segregation and management according to the National Green Tribunal (NGT) rules.
