200 gm heroin recovered in Kathua, 2 held
In a major breakthrough against drug trafficking, the Kathua police on Friday recovered 200 gm of heroin and apprehended two inter-state drug peddlers. The operation, carried out under the supervision of Kathua SSP Shobhit Saxsena, successfully busted the racket in the Parliwand area of Kathua.
Acting on a tip-off regarding individuals involved in the illegal narcotics trade, the police set up a special check post at Parliwand. During the operation, two individuals, Shambu Nath and Anil Kumar, both residents of Budh Vihar, West Delhi, were caught in possession of 200 gm of heroin. The narcotics were seized, and the suspects were arrested on the spot.
An FIR has been registered under the NDPS Act at Kathua Police Station, and further investigations are ongoing. The police have urged residents to report any such illegal activities.
