20 para-athletes feted in Fatehgarh Sahib

On World Disability Day, Deputy Commissioner Sona Thind honoured 20 para-athletes who have won medals the state-level sports competitions ‘Khedan Watan Punjab Dian’. The DC said the administration was committed to providing all facilities to the para players.

In ‘Khedan Watan Punjab Dian’, Rupinder Singh won gold medals in 400m and 1500m, while Davinder Singh won gold in shot put and bronze in 100m. Balwant Singh won silver in 100m and 200m, while Avtar Singh Harlalpur won gold medal in discus throw. Tanveer Singh won silver in 200m, Bhargav Sharma won bronze in 400m, Davinder Singh Amloh won silver in shot put and Amit Kumar won silver medals in 200m and 400m.

In the women’s category, Anu Kumari won bronze in 100m race and long jump. Balwinder Kaur won a gold medal in the discus throw, silver in the long jump and bronze medal in 200-m race. Janmpreet Kaur won a gold medal in the 1500m and a silver medal in 400m race.
