2 pistols seized after quizzing of criminals
The city police have seized two country-made .32 bore pistols during the interrogation of two criminals who were brought on a production warrant from the Amritsar Central Jail in two separate incidents.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Vishaljit Singh said Ravinder Singh, alias Kaka Chitti, of Milap Avenue was arrested by the police in connection with seizure of drugs. The police had arrested a woman drug peddler on June 16 with 50 gm of heroin. Her interrogation had led to the arrest of Ravinder Singh who was currently languishing in jail.
He was brought on a production warrant from jail and following his disclosure, the police seized a .32 bore pistol along with two live bullets from his possession. He said now sections of the Arms Act were added to the FIR.
Similarly, the Anngarh police brought Captain Singh from New Shaheed Udham Singh Nagar and was arrested on a production warrant from jail. He was arrested in a snatching case on July 30. He along with his accomplices had snatched an e-rickshaw from a local resident. During interrogation, the police confiscated the bike used in the crime and a .32 bore pistol with three bullets. A separate FIR under the Arms Act was registered against him.
