2 ‘illegal’ buildings sealed

Taking action against illegal constructions, the Municipal Corporation (MC) sealed two illegal buildings in Model Town extension and near Mali Ganj on Wednesday.

The action was taken on the directions of MC Commissioner Sandeep Rishi.

Assistant Town Planner (ATP Z-D) Jagdeep Singh said that the civic body team came to know about the illegal construction in Model Town extension during routine inspection and the building was sealed on Wednesday.

Speaking of the illegal building near Mali Ganj, Building Inspector Navneet Khokhar said that the building was sealed in the past too and the owner was directed to get a building plan approved before restarting the construction works. But the owner restarted construction works without getting the building plan approved from the civic body. So the building has again been sealed.

MC chief Sandeep Rishi said strict directions have been issued to the building branch officials to take stern action against illegal constructions.
