2 held with 500-gm heroin

The Gharinda police have arrested two drug peddlers identified as Mangal Singh and Daler Singh, both residents of the Guru Ki Wadali area in Chheharta, and recovered 500gm of heroin from their possession. They were intercepted at a naka at Dhadiwind village on Wednesday evening.

Sukhjinder Thapar, DCP, Attari, said the police noticed two scooter-borne persons coming from Ranike Rangarh border village. When the police signalled them to stop, they got panicked.

On suspicion, the police searched them, their scooter and recovered 500 gm of heroin. A case under Sections 21, 25, 29, 61 and 85 of the NDPS Act was registered against the duo. They were produced in a court on Thursday and brought on police remand for further investigation.
