2 held for throwing acid on youth in Abohar

The City-1 police have arrested two persons for allegedly throwing acid on a youth in Sant Nagar here. The accused were identified as Aman Kumar, victim’s uncle, and Idgah Basti.

The victim, Vikram, was injured critically in the attack, following which he was taken to the Civil Hospital, and later referred to AIIMS-Bathinda.

In his complaint, Vikram’s father Rajinder Kumar, told the police that Aman and Sagar had barged into his house, looking for his son. Upon finding him lying on his bed, they threw acid on his face, and fled the spot.

A case had been registered under Sections 124(1), 333 and 3(5) of the BNS. The police said both the suspects had been arrested.
