2 fall prey to Covid, 42 test positive in district

Fortytwo persons tested positive for Covid, while two lost their lives to the virus today.

Ten patients were on ventilator support today which included four patients from Ludhiana district and six from other districts.

The total confirmed cases from Ludhiana district reached 20,291, while the death toll went up to 837. At present, there are 281 patients in the district.

Both patients who lost their lives today were males. One belonged to Dhandra Road, Dugri, and was 67-year-old. He had co-morbidity of diabetes and was admitted to Deep Hospital.

Another patient who succumbed to the virus was aged 73 and was a resident of Humbran village. He was admitted to the DMCH and was suffering from kidney problem. Those who tested positive today included 12 persons who were referred from various OPDs, 23 from flu corners, one health care worker, while the tracing of two was under process. Two cases were reported positive from Khanna town today, out of which one case of Khanna town was reported to be coronavirus positive from the CHC Khamano.

Today, 45 samples were taken by staff of Civil Hospital, Khanna, for Covid.

37 dengue cases

On Saturday, 37 dengue cases were reported and the total number of such cases reached 1,127. Civil Surgeon Dr Rajesh Bagga has appealed to the people to empty their water coolers regularly and do not let water remain stagnant in and around their houses.
