2 die in Shimla car mishap
Two Uttar Pradesh natives were killed, while one sustained injuries after the car (HP 03 C 9617) they were travelling in rolled down a road in Shimla, the police said here today.
The deceased were identified as Vishal (27) and Aman (27) while the injured was identified as Kapil. All three of them were natives of Uttar Pradesh but were living in Shoghi and Tara Devi in a rented accommodation.
The accident took place on the Chakkar road when the driver lost control of the vehicle due to which the car fell onto another road. As a result, one of them died on the spot while two sustained serious injuries.
The accident was witnessed by locals who immediately informed the police. A police team reached the spot and rescued the injured and also recovered one of the bodies.
The injured was rushed to Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital (IGMC), where one of them was declared brought dead, while Vishal is undergoing treatment. Postmortem of the deceased is also being conducted in the hospital.
Shimla SP Sanjeev Kumar Gandhi said a case under Sections 281 (rash driving), 125A (doing any act endangering human life or personal safety of others) and 106 (punishment for causing death by negligence or rash driving) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023 has been registered.
