Acting swiftly on a complaint, the Dabwali City Police have arrested two men for transporting cattle under inhumane conditions. The complaint, filed by Suresh Kumar, a resident of Ward No. 5, Dabwali, led the police team to intercept a truck, numbered Punjab-04AD-0538.

Station in-charge SI Shailendra Kumar stated that two men — Kulwinder Singh of Dabwali and Charanjit Singh, alias Chanan, from Moga district -- were apprehended for attempting to smuggle six cows, tightly bound and stuffed in the truck without food or water.

The police discovered that the cattle were meant for slaughter in Uttar Pradesh, a clear violation of animal protection laws. The authorities immediately freed the cows and transferred them to the local Nandishala shelter.
