2 beaten up on suspicion of carrying cow meat in Faridabad

A police official said a test would determine whether the seized meat is of a cow or another animal

Two youths were caught and beaten up by locals after the alleged recovery of cow meat from their possession today. They were handed over to the police, who have launched an investigation into the complaint.

According to police sources, the two youths were handed over to the authorities by Bajrang Dal activists after being caught near the Sohna Flyover on NH-19 on Sunday morning. It is alleged that the youths were stopped while transporting animal meat in an autorickshaw.

As several residents gathered at the scene, the youths, who belong to the minority community, were reportedly beaten on suspicion of carrying cow meat.

Anuj, an activist with the local Bajrang Dal unit, said he and other members of the group arrived at the location after receiving information about the incident. They intervened and handed the youths over to the police for investigation. The meat in question was also handed over to the police, who have sent a sample to a laboratory for testing.

A police official said the investigation was going on and that the test results will determine whether the seized meat is of a cow or another animal.
