Faridabad, July 6

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested two persons for allegedly taking Rs 2 lakh from a resident for a job in the ESIC hospital here on Saturday. A spokesperson of the ACB said the team nabbed two private persons for demanding the bribe for a job in the ESIC hospital. He said one of the accused, identified as Rakesh, was apprehended while accepting Rs 1.80 lakh from the complainant. An amount of Rs 20,000 had already been taken in this regard.

Soon after the arrest, the ACB recovered Rs 1.20 lakh from the other accused, identified as Hakim.

According to the complaint, the duo had demanded the money to get employment as a cleanliness worker in the ESIC hospital recently. However, as the complainant approached the ACB before handing over the second instalment of Rs 1.80 lakh, the cops laid a trap and managed to arrest the accused, it was claimed. The entire operation was conducted with full transparency involving the witnesses, said the official.

An FIR has been registered against the accused. The ACB has released helpline numbers 1800-180-2022 and 1064 for lodging complaints or reporting matters regarding corruption by government officials or individuals.
