2 advocate brothers thrashed, 1 nabbed
Some persons attacked two advocate brothers in Ranjit Avenue area leaving them seriously injured here on Monday. They were admitted to hospital. One of the suspects, identified as Arman of Ranjit Avenue, was arrested from the spot.
The Ranjit Avenue police booked him and his unidentified accomplices for murder bid. The incident occurred on Monday while a case was registered yesterday.
Victim Gaurav Arora told the police that he was playing tennis with his daughter outside his house when several car-borne persons came there. He alleged without provocation, the accused started using abusive language and attacked him with sharp-edged and blunt weapons. He said when his brother Himanshu Arora came to his rescue, the accused thrashed him also.
He said hearing their shouts, nearby residents started gathering and seeing this, the accused fled in a car. However, one of the suspects, later identified as Arman, fell off the car while escaping. He was caught by residents and later handed over to the police.
The police said the accused were drunk and had lost their way. They entered the E block of Ranjit Avenue where the advocate was playing with his daughter. Some verbal arguments took place which took an ugly turn. He said Arman was arrested from the spot while the remaining accused fled the scene. Arman also had injury in the head and was admitted to hospital. Further probe was on to identify the remaining accused.
