2.5K saplings to be planted on NDRI campus in Karnal

Karnal, July 5

The ICAR-National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI), Karnal, launched the Van Mahotsav programme at the Kalki Bhawan from today, which will go on till July 12. While inaugurating the event, Director and Vice-Chancellor Dr Dheer Singh said the Van Mahotsav was celebrated to create awareness about the importance of trees and forests in maintaining ecological balance and ensuring environmental stability. “July is the best month for planting trees as it coincides with monsoon,” he added.

Dr Suresh Kumar Malhotra, Vice-Chancellor, Maharana Pratap Horticultural University, Karnal, and Jai Kumar Narval, District Forest Officer (DFO), also graced the occasion and planted trees. During the programme about 2,500 fruits and ornamental plants will be planted throughout the NDRI campus.
