136 units collected at blood camp in Jagadhri
Considering the requirement of blood caused due to the spread of dengue and other problems, a blood donation camp was organised at Maharaja Agrasen Mahavidyalaya in Jagadhri in memory of former college president Late Lala Desraj Goel.
A total of 136 units of blood were collected in the blood donation camp.
The camp was organised by the Youth Red Cross unit of the college in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Jagadhri (North) and Inner Wheel Club, Jagadhri.
The vice-president of the college governing body, Parveen Goel, was the chief guest at the camp. He said if the youth of the nation come forward for such a noble cause, then no one in the country would ever die due to the unavailability of blood.
Dr Karuna, Principal of the college, said that donating blood was one of the greatest donations one could make for society. “It doesn’t make you weak, doesn’t leave any negative impact on your body. Instead, it maintains and manages the flow of fresh blood in the body,” he said.
